Assure taxpayers and other stakeholders that meaningful steps are being taken towards the goal of Dig Once!
Using Trifecta’s Worksview module public agencies and authorities are able to create an online mapping portal in which to share their long term major works plans with utility companies and contractors, giving them an interactive tool for planning their own works around ‘public’ initiatives such Roading upgrades or new subdivisions. It is even possible to upload entire long term council and community plans as far out as 20 years or more.
Authorities already using the Trifecta Project Management (TPM) solution will find their projects automatically populated into Worksview with categorisation based upon the project definition. Council’s not utilising TPM will, like their contractors be able to upload projects via the shape file import routine.
Utility companies and contractors then have the ability to upload the high level details from their forward works programme about your planned utility work in the transport corridor and assess that against these public sector plans, thereby allowing you to plan your own works around ‘public’ initiatives such Roading upgrades or new subdivisions in the same approximate time and space.
Where projects are considered commercially sensitive or confidential, their visibility within the system is limited to the project owner and the Worksview Authority. As such, project owners and designated stakeholders will see the opportunity / conflict (and will be emailed to this effect); it will, however, remain their prerogative to establish dialogue. Worksview makes no automated notification to other organisations on your behalf regarding confidential projects. It then becomes the Worksview Authority’s role to facilitate any discussions about conflicts with these ‘Restricted projects.
Restricted visibility of organisations forward works plans on a project by project basis by defining its status as: Confidential, Restricted or Public.
- Public – full disclosure to all users;
- Restricted – disclosure of project classification and timeframe only to all users;
- Confidential – disclosure to project owner and RCA only;
The default value for all projects is ‘public’
Projects must be classified in one of the following categories
- Gas
- Power
- Telecommunications
- Sewers / Wastewater
- Freshwater
- Stormwater
- Roading
- Proposed works (unclassified)
Trifecta Worksview provides Council’s with a tangible solution to the question of how do we assure ratepayers and other stakeholders that we are addressing the issues around the Dig Once initiative!
